A little about me.

I’m Rob, an independent designer and developer based in Wollongong, Australia.

I like making things, figuring out how they work, and getting to know the people behind them. Most of my work involves designing and building websites, but the part I enjoy most is taking an idea from an early conversation into something real.

Beyond the screen

I’ve always been curious about the world, and I can spend an awful lot of time thinking about the things I’d like to see, learn or make.

But I’ve come to realise that thinking about doing something and actually doing it are very different things.

Life is short, and I don’t particularly want to spend mine wondering what I could have done. I’d rather get out there, try things, make mistakes, meet people and have experiences that are actually my own.

Sometimes that means travelling somewhere unfamiliar, climbing, or disappearing into the outdoors for a while. Other times it’s picking up a camera and walking around without much of a plan.

I don’t think everything has to lead somewhere. Sometimes the experience itself is enough.

A little background

I studied a double degree in Business and IT at the University of Wollongong, and have since found myself working across technology, design and plenty of things in between.

One of the things I’ve come to enjoy most is getting to know the people behind a project. Understanding what they’re trying to do, working through ideas together, and having the opportunity to turn those conversations into something real.

These days, I work independently. I like being involved in the whole process, from the first conversation to the finished product, and I particularly value the relationships that continue afterwards. The first client website I built, back in 2023, is one I still look after today.
